Extracranial Dural Arteriovenous Fistula as a Cause of Mastoid Mass: A Case Report

چکیده

Introduction: Dural arteriovenous fistulas account for 10 to 15% of intracranial malformations. They are defined as malformations short-circuits between dural and extracranial arteries with venous sinuses. Its presentation is in frequent its management a challenge low- middle-income countries where there difficulties accessing high quality technological tools. Case: We present the case an unusual fistula involving mastoid region draining into external jugular vein through emissary veins superior longitudinal sinus, which was treated transarterially. Conclusion: Endovascular can be challenge. treatment includes transarterial or transvenous approach from femoral artery vein. There little evidence on this subject, so it necessary carry out more studies determine risk factors, intervention effects medium- long-term outcomes.
